Our President and Founder
Anthony R. Thompson is founder and President of Real Home Solutions of Rhode Island, a privately held company incorporated in May 2000 that buys and sells real estate in Rhode Island and invests in emerging markets throughout the United States.
With over a decade of active real estate experience, Mr. Thompson has seen a great deal of change in the industry during that time, and he always strives to embrace change, not resist it.
Mr. Thompson holds a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Finance & Investment from New York University, a Master of Science degree in Computing & Information Systems from Bentley College, and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Brown University. He has also attended a number of personal and professional education seminars, and he remains totally committed to continuous education and self-improvement.
Mr. Thompson is a founding and active member of the Rhode Island Real Estate Investor’s Group (RIREIG), a not-for-profit networking, support, and educational group. Mr. Thompson served as RIREIG Education Director for several years and he also regularly teaches a course on Investment and Finance at the Rhode Island Association of Realtors.
Prior to starting the company and focusing totally on real estate, Mr. Thompson spent over a decade working on business intelligence systems at several Fortune 500 companies including Osram Sylvania (a Siemans company) and Pfizer. He also spent 15 years serving on the Board of Directors and overseeing the information systems for an international non-profit organization.
While Mr. Thompson is thoroughly familiar with common real estate areas such as foreclosures, probate/estate sales, vacant and run-down properties, and divorces, he specializes in lesser-known and unusual areas such as bankruptcy, short sales, partial interests, life & remainder estates, title problems, tax liens, and judgments. In short, the more difficult the problem, the more determined Mr. Thompson becomes to solve it.
Mr. Thompson’s philosophy in business and life is centered on karma or the Golden Rule, that the highest purpose in life is to dedicate oneself to helping others and that by doing so, one cannot help but experience good fortune in return.
He puts this philosophy into practice every day, including helping homeowners solve real estate problems, educating others in business, finance, and technology, and donating to various charities. His motto is: “The surest and best way to succeed is to help others reach their own success.”
